Always remember that good content will always get you into the good books of the search engines.
The next step would be reviewing the usage of your keywords. Too much of anything leads to a vice and this holds true, if you use many keywords in your website. That is because this does nothing but result to spamming, which may lead your website to be blacklisted from the particular search engine. May be you can use a little trick with the keyword, like including it in your domain name. Just dont go anywhere beyond that. That is because, if your domain name has a keyword, it will be a lot easier to drive large number of traffic to your website. You can even resort to comparing the different keywords in your website by entering them into the search engine and check out, which keyword is more likely to occur than the other. This will obviously give you a brief idea about the keyword usage in your website.
As a precautionary measure, it is always advisable that you extend the deadline of your domain name. Not many people know about this step and often learn the consequences the hard way. The trick is that the more time your domain name is extended, the less the search engines would suspect your website of spamming. However, this surely does not mean that you should engage in the spamming activity because sooner or later, you are bound to be caught and face the consequences.
Tracking the online traffic to your website should be given some importance, after you are done with the search engine optimization process. You have to be able to determine, which keywords and search items would help you to enhance the traffic to your website.
